I love the flexibility in the Megabill to drill, group, filter and extract any view I'd like. I also was sold on the ability to make Virtual Tags on all data as well. We are in the process of moving many chargeback related processes almost entirely to the Finout solution, getting us out of spreadsheets. Another huge selling point is the optimization visibility in across Cloud resources. The list of useful tooling continues to grow as enhancements go live.
Its clear and centralized visibility into cloud spending. The intuitive dashboards make it easy to track costs across multiple services, teams and environments in real time. the detailed cost allocation and breakdown help identify insufficiencies and optimization opportunities quickly, enabling cost control and informed decision making without excessive manual effort.
For the pricing they offer and the amount of features they offer, this is a great product. Also their support is very reactive and will give you answers or solutions in no time. And finally you can have a technical account manager that will provide you updates on their product, and will ask for your needs in order to improve their tool.
While having a financial planning function differentiates their product from many competitors, there is room for improvement. That said, I believe they will continue to enhance in the coming year. Another area (that they actively try to improve) is compute power for some queries. Due to all the Virtual Tagging, some backend connections likely cause heavy lifts that need a little more power. Lastly, I'd like to see their committed use recommendations expand to be a more holistic view of Cloud optimization opportunities.
The main drawback of the product is the initial setup and configuration complexity , which can feel overwhelming, especially when defining cost allocation rules and integrations.
The API could be better, especially to help LLMs use the data in Finout. But they are working on it, and when you read this, this issue will already be resolved.

Good product for the price range
Good Finops tool to aggregate all your Cloud & SAAS costs in the same place. They offer a diversity of tools to query and present the data in ways that help FinOps engineers and users to understand the source of the costs and how to optimize them. The alerting system is well designed and allows you to configure it to only be triggered when something needs your attention. By default they may be a bit too reactive but in no time you can adapt them to your needs. On the API side, there is room for improvement. You need to create your views then you can query the data. This is blocking if you need to plug in your LLM to help you troubleshoot some cost anomalies. The competition can offer more features, but at this price and this level of features there is no competition.
