The major things i like about finout are (1) flexible cost allocation which includes custom dimensions, business metrics and chargeback/showback work well. (2) Good FinOps alignment : fits well with FinOps best practices and engineering workflows.
The visibility is solid - you can see where the money's going without digging forever. Dashboards are clean and easy to share with leadership. Cost allocation is strong once your structure is in place.
What I appreciate most is the single pane of glass view it creates. Instead of juggling multiple AWS, GCP and SaaS bills, Finout has brought everything into one single dashboard plus its proactive anomaly alerts have saved us from our internal discussions on spending.
Some dislikes are (1) Learning curve: Powerful, but not the simplest UI for non-technical users (2) Pricing: can feel more expensive for smaller teams.
There's a bit of setup to get it dialed in. Some of the more power user features took me a minute to learn
The initial setup and data mapping was quite challenging, the interface is clean and connecting all accounts, it feels like you need to know the complex configuration phase before getting its full benefits.
