What I like most about this product is how quickly I can turn a script into a polished, professional looking video without needing any filming editing or voice resources. Also, translations are done great because you record a video in English and it gives you dozens of different languages with one click. The avatar functionality looks surprisingly natural, especially with the latest lip-sync improvements, and the quality is consistently clear and human-like. This has dramatically cut down our production time for training and customer facing video content and explainer videos that we develop. I also appreciate how simple the workflow is, just drag drop, edit and render. It feels designed for non-experts, which makes adoption across the team extremely easy.
HeyGen excels in training, onboarding, internal communications, product explainers, and marketing videos where structure and consistency matter more than cinematic creativity.
The easy to use is perfect, the platform allows users to create videos quickly without prior video editing experiences. The text-to-video capability is written scripts can be turned into video content in a straightforward way. The avatar and voice option is also good; it provides different presenters and voice styles to match various cases for different uses. the time saving is the most important thing, which significantly reduces efforts compared to manual video production settings.
It makes video creation incredibly fast and simple, and the avatars and video quality are strong enough to use in real production content. What I like most is the workflow being intuitive so that anyone on our team can produce polished videos in minutes. What I dislike most is the limited avatar customization. For example, you cannot always fine tune gestures, expressions, or pacing. Also, rendering slows down during peak times, which may be a case only for me but most of the time it is quick but occasionally the render queue up longer than expected. Another issue that I observed is the audiovisual mismatches in complex scripts when scripts include technical terms or fast pacing or multiple languages in the same script the lip sync and intonation can sometimes slip.
Limited creative control and expressiveness. Some avatars don't look realistic and fine-grained creative control is limited. The rendering performance can be inconsistent with variable rendering times. This can interrupt fast-turn workflows for teams working under tight deadlines. Heygen is not designed for open ended video editing.
There is unfortunately limitation in the customization, which reduce advanced editing and fine adjustments are somehow restricted. Also, the output variation of some generated videos may require small adjustment to remove the AI footprint of the video and to match expectations. The dependency on predefined templates is confining us with no flexibility which is somehow tied to available templates.
