IBM Bob

I first used iBM bob as a test user in late 2025 and later applied it to a concrete innovation project, where I built an optimization application together with lecture materials and practical exercises. My experience became much more substantial during an IBM technical workshop in Paris, where I worked directly with Bob Shell. The interaction felt familiar to anyone experienced with modern coding agents, so i was able to become productive very quickly. What distinguishes Bob is its ability to combine analytics, mathematical optimization, automation and agentic development into a practical Composite AI approach, rather than onl generating isolated pieces of code. My colleague and I now have access to Bob for a year. We intend to use it to modernize IBM-based analytics and optimization processes and to build a reusable platform for taking AI solutions to a production-ready level, particularly in predictive maintenance. Bob is especially valuable when converting established processes into agentic, AI-enabled workflows.
