Overview

Product Information on IBM watsonx.ai

Updated 2nd May 2025

What is IBM watsonx.ai?

An enterprise-grade AI development studio that supports the adoption of AI use-cases from data through deployment by leveraging a collection of foundation models, including IBM’s Granite models and 3rd party models, a Prompt Lab interface and APIs/SDKs to support agentic and RAG-based use cases with or without code, a data science toolset to build AI/ML models automatically, as well as a collection of visual data pipelines and flows, and synthetic data generation – all running on a scalable, open and trusted, hybrid AI infrastructure.

IBM watsonx.ai Pricing

Pricing is flexible and structured to customer needs, ensuring they only pay for what they use. Every subscription includes a set amount of compute time, which can be increased as needed. When customers use generative AI models, the cost varies with the size of the model chosen and the number of tokens used. For text extraction, charges are based on the number of pages or number of images processed. Machine learning model costs vary based on the compute hardware selected and the compute usage.
