1) Proto-selling is a research tool that has matured with my career and LPK has listened to all feedback along the way to make it truly personalized to our needs and industry. It isn't just off the shelf. It is ours. 2) LPK is willing to tell us no. So much of what we do together involves strategy. If we're chasing the wrong insight or start with the wrong hypothesis, it's easy to waste time. Even worse, we may validate something that shouldn't have been validated. When briefing LPK, whether it be for proto-selling or a bigger innovation challenge, they act as strategic partners, not just order takers. 3) LPK sticks to what they are good at (proto-selling, GTM strategy, innovation positioning, etc.) and pulls in other experts as needed. I really appreciate that they don't over-sell their internal expertise. It has built my trust in them and resulted in a stronger output. My colleagues are continually impressed by the work coming out of our group.
