The Mimecast platform has been truly impressive. It has a very intuitive and easy to navigate interface, a plethora of comprehensive security features, which includes strong phishing and malware protection and data loss prevention. It also has a robust security awareness training platform that is engaging and customizable based on the user base.
I value the CrowdStrike integration for streamlined investigations, Outlook reporting for quick user escalation, and effective impersonation protection against look-alike senders.
It's very easy to use and manage. You can add email domains to be trusted and whitelisted so that trusted emails can get through. It can also block credit card numbers from being sent and received, which is especially helpful in a financial environment.
We particularly do not dislike any of it's current features. One of the minor hiccups that we have had to work with is the system-learning capabilities during the initial deployment phase, there will be a lot of false positives at the start which is understandable. A good area that it can improve on would be to further expand on options when it comes to policy configurations and to improve end-user features and reporting.
Admin UI feels slow, and mailbox remediation can be inconsistentsometimes immediate, sometimes requiring retries. Rules are complex, and even relaxed policies over-capture with little explanation why.
The software is great, though sometimes the web filters work a little too well and will block legitimate emails. Luckily these can be released easily from the admin portal so it's not a major issue overall.
