Nautobot as a platform has accelerated our delivery of network automation and self-services to our organization, with its vast array of powerful jobs, external integrations and API capabilities, we've been able to interface seamlessly with other teams' pipelines and workflows to create an automation framework and development lifecycle capable of rapid delivery of new offerings. Working with their professional services team to help road-map, architect and rapidly deploy our automation framework was worth the value of every penny spent (which wasn't bad either); Network to Code has some really outstanding developers and engineers available to support your project deliverables, they have been nothing short of incredible. The flexibility in different delivery methods and services offered has helped make Nautobot a critical part of our team's automation solutions, and they have been a great partner to our team and organization - all while providing exceptional value on a strict budget - I can't recommend them enough!
Flexibility - NTC did develop new connectivity methods for us to be able to use the SaaS given our security requirements. SaaS Platform - enables us to maintain lifecycle requirements on software versions with greater ease than on-prem NTC's Network Understanding
I value the customizability and adaptability of Nautobot above all else. I appreciate that there are several ways to accomplish any goal, whether it be fully using Nautobots native capabilities or augmenting it to integrate with other platforms. The plugins are also a reason I believe Nautobot stands out among other SoT's.
Our experience is limited to on-premise VM Nautobot, in HA, but updating the deployment of the platform can be complex and at times confusing (we deploy the platform via code). As is the way with open-source, vulnerabilities are present and sometimes patches rely on underlying binaries getting updates etc... Sometimes integrations don't work right out of the box, and can require custom code updates on the systems.
API Performance Lack of remote collector means limited use cases for now due to our connectivity model to the SaaS Timeliness of identifying and remediating issues
My main complaint about this product would have to be its lack of depth in some less prioratized areas. For our environment, for example, we are unable to fully model network connections because our existing source of truth for interconnects uses single strand modeling whereas Nautobot does not. While I'm sure there are many more important focuses on the roadmap, some smaller quality of life imrpovements would be very beneficial to us.

Nautobot greatly improves network automation and compliance
I greatly enjoy using and developing our Nautobot instance. Nautobot has been the catalyst for overall network heigein and automation at our university. I appreciate that it is focused on being a single source of truth to the extent that it can integrate and pull data from a wealth of existing sources. I also appreciate the breadth it spans regarding usability, from simple documentation to actual config implementation. Nautobot Offers Flexibility and Scalability but App Limitations Are Noted
Nautobot is well positioned for a variety of use cases at a variety of complexity levels. It is good as a simple inventory, which is where we started. You can then start to layer in various automation use cases as desired. Nautobot is obviously related to other tools and shares DNA, so many aspects are shared. We chose Nautobot over competitors because we liked the overall support, welcoming nature of the NetworkToCode community, and the stability of the platform; bugs are not common, and stable code is released on a steady cadence with consistent improvements. Nautobot Cloud Centralizes Network Visibility and Streamlines Automation Workflows
I've been using Nautobot for several years and moved to Nautobot Cloud about two years ago. It has become my Network Source of Truth and the central platform for all my network automation workflows. Network To Code has been a great partner to work with on our Nautobot journey. We are using Nautobot for a wide swath of use cases centered around our Managed Network Service including assets, services, datacenters, contracts, networks, virtualized platforms, customers, and many other object types. We created, with Network To Code's help, essentially a graph database for hundreds of thousands of objects that describe our services and infrastructure. This assists in our correlation, root cause analytics, and general AIOps. Network To Code's resources are expert level on the Nautobot platform as well as having deep industry experience.
