OpenText Data Integrator Likes & Dislikes
Very reliable and able to handle a large volume of transactions. Key for us during intervals where we have large workloads. Data Integrator supports all major protocols that our partners require.
I like the universal data translation across formats super useful in messy multi-partner environments.I also love the massive pre-connected partner ecosystem which speeds onboarding a lot. Real-time monitoring dashboards help spot failures fast in production as well.
I love having a single, centralized gateway for all of our B2B messaging, it gives us great visibility and audit trails, which makes staying compliant so much easier for our team.
I expected that a tool as robust as Data Integrator would be more complex to configure and administer. It's not for average users; it requires a power user who has been trained on how to manage the solution. It's a little on the pricey side, but not out of bounds completely with other tools with a similar breadth of features. With many other tools being SaaS-native, I would prefer if OpenText had a cloud/SaaS based solution.
I felt it can be heavy/complex if you dont have strong EDI or B2B experience. Its usually positioned for large enterprises, so cost and setup effort can be high.Customization and onboarding processes can still be slow, depending on the partners ofc.
The user interface feels a bit dated. Fairly sharp learning curve at the beginning Getting quick resolutions from customer support takes longer sometime.
