- Offers very reliable security features, but with some gaps (see dislikes) - Strong self service capabilities, reducing inter team dependencies - Scalable and reliable, no unplanned downtime last year - Lots of out of the box connectors, reducing customized solutions
I would robust architecture - love the project's features, which allow encryption and processing of files without custom scripting. Second would be versatile connectors - support for various protocols (FTPS, HTTPS, SFTP, AS2) and cloud storage for Azure Blob and Microsoft SharePoint. Lastly, like the centralized controls - single pane of glass, which provides monitoring of all transfers, managing audit logs and handling user permissions. Admins appreciate these centralized controls.
One of the strongest features is the workflow designer. The ability to build automated progress with triggers. conditions and tasks makes it very flexible for handling complex file transfer requirements without constant manual work. Another highlight is the broad protocol support. It supports SFT,FTPS, HTTPS, and other secure methods, which makes it easy to integrate with different partners and systems. Auditing and reporting capabilities are also impressive. Detailed Logs, Alerts and Compliance-Friendly Reporting make it easier to track file activity and meet internal or regulatory requirements.
- Steep learning curve. The initial implementation was a lot harder than expected, due to outdated GUI and unnecessarily complex scripting features. - We had to implement customizations in our firewalls and network setup we didn't need with our previous file transfer middleware tool, requiring extra maintenance. - Not all security features are properly propagated towards the teams that use self service. So even though the central platform is secure, significant effort is required to upskill self service users to not introduce security risks.
Security maintenance - experienced high severity vulnerabilities (like CVE -2025-10035), requiring admins to stay very proactive with patching and hardening. Secondly, from my experience, complex initial setup - it takes more time and technical effort than expected, especially when integrating with existing network infrastructure. Thirdly observed steeper learning curve - basic transfer setups were easy, but when you needed advanced logic - conditional branching or looping through a ton of file rows - I did not find good enough documentation.
Performance can occasionally slow when running multiple complex workflows simultaneously. Particularly in high volume environments. This sometimes requires additional turning or resource allocation. Another limitation is the licensing model. which can become costly as you scale users, modules or advanced features. It's important to carefully plan capacity to avoid unexpected expenses. The interface can feel overwhelming at times, especially for new users. there are many configuration options, and it takes some time to understand where everything is located
