Performance of Parallels RAS Across Market Features
Parallels RAS Likes & Dislikes
1) Excellent performance on Apple silicon Parallels delivers smooth and responsible Windows 11 performance on M-series Macs, even for professional applications. 2) Seamless macOS and Windows integration Features like Coherence mode, shared clipboard, drag-and-drop, shared folders, and file associations make Windows apps feel native on macOS. 3) Very easy setup and user experience Installing Windows and configuring a VM is simple, even for non-experts, with sensible defaults and automation. 4) Strong stability and reliability The VM environment is stable for daily professional use, including long sessions and frequent suspend/resume cycles.
I really enjoyed that Parallels RAS is an extremely customizable, all-in-one platform with quick access to the health of the infrastructure. The Parallels Client was user-friendly and the drag and drop function really helped our users. The VDI & Remote App support was a huge win for us.
Again, the focus on Parallels staff delivering a product that works for our environment, even when enhancements or improvements were suggested and implemented in future versions of the product.
1) Subscription-based licensing cost Ongoing subscription pricing may be perceived as expensive for occasional users. 2) ARM compatibility limitations Some Windows applications or drivers that depends on x86 architecture may not be fully compatible on Apple Silicon. 3) Limited enterprise management features Parallels is excellent for individual or small-team use but lack centralized management compared to entreprise hypervisors 4) Dependence on Microsoft Windows licensing Users must separately manage Windows licensing, which can add complexity.
Unfortunately, the Parallels RAS became slow after configuring over 100 applications. Although it's customizable, the learning curve is a little high when trying to familiarize yourself with all the options. I would have appreciated the engineering and sales team spending more time showing us the benefits of cloud hosted resources.
I do not have any at this time.

Parallels: A Game-Changer in Customizing and Deploying Applications
The product has been working well for us for years and we have not had any major issues with the application during that time. When we first implemented Parallels, it was a game-changer in how we customized and deployed applications across our departments. This became even more apparent during the onset of COVID, when employees were forced to work from home. By coupling Parallels technology with a VPN, we were able to remain largely unaffected, as the infrastructure was already in place to support remote work. Having the ability to publish, load balance, and apply access control to services made maintenance, monitoring and application rollouts a simple task for our IT team. - Systems & Infrastructure LeadGov't/PS/EdEducationReview Source
