The extensive student management tools available through PeopleSoft serve my purposes very well. Multiple administrative functions become streamlined through system integration as students move from admissions to enrollment, and from financial aid to alumni relations.
PeopleSoft Campus Solutions helped to optimise many processes in our admissions office. The abilities to track student records, to control enrollment process, and to produce financial aid reports have been improved.
PeopleSoft Campus Solutions works well with other sources of information within the university to give a comprehensive picture of our students. The center provides a comprehensive list of services that includes enrollment and financial management and academic advising.
Even standard navigation through this complicated system results in inefficient processes due to its awkward sub-menus structure. Operating at reduced daily speeds requires a large amount of staff training to reach competence in the system.
The reporting tools are advanced and only easily understandable by those with a good technical background. For general reports, we have to depend on IT and this takes time before we can get important information.
The design is somewhat old fashioned and does not incorporate the modern features that are typical for contemporary student information systems. It is tiring to look for certain features among the options on the menus.

Selecting Campus Management Solution

The product works for sure, but its really hard to implement outsite US.
We invested 4 years in the this huge Academic ERP implementation in Brazil. It suppose to be a game changing implementation since it was the first full implementation in Brazil despite of single vendor solution (HW + SW) ERP Peoplesoft Campus Solution + Exadata + Exalogic + Tuxedo + Local package (tropicalization). In the beginning the vendor support was amazing but during the project rollout there was a lot of priority changes in the vendor development roadmap. The Campus Solution ecosystem was weak and there is no consultancy expertise in the market. From customer perspective our data governance and change management strategy fail as well. The project management skills from consultancy indicated by the vendor and the product management itself was really poor.
