I think one of my favorite things about Power apps is the community. There are so many YouTube videos and forums out there to help you get to where you need to be to understand how to create apps to help you achieve what you are trying to accomplish. This was extremely helpful when I was tasked to come up with a solution that has a simple user interface that provides the info in a read only environment and end users only needed to action on a few fields and then submit. The community is key when it comes to developing with an unknown tool.

Read Full ReviewThe customization of the apps is definitely the highlight. We're able to easily change things like branding, formatting, and data connections without knowing too much about coding. We did contract a few times with an expert to do some advanced coding of our apps, but we could have been fine without the advanced coding, too. It was added benefit.

There's not a lot of tutorials when you jump into it. On the flipside, there are tutorials all over the internet. However, you have to go looking for it and you may not know how to ask the right questions when it comes to searching for a specific issue.
Read Full ReviewCustomisation - It's difficult to brand a power app well without a lot of additional code. Half completed features - Microsoft releases features at pace, but a fair number of them are either never seen through to completion, or take several years. For example, the MS SQL connection to run stored procedures is transformative, but it's still not possible to use an environment variable to make the connection to them!
Read Full ReviewThere are limitations to how much data can be displayed. We've had to rework our apps a few times to make sure the most relevant data displays. We've also had to rework the apps to re-connect things when Microsoft changes their backend processes. It's been a pain, but those only happen every few years so it's still worth not having to contract out to build a custom software app outside of our Microsoft ecosystem.

The first app that I created was from a template and I didn't quite understand what I was doing. I later decided to create something from scratch and discovered the simplicity of creating apps within the Microsoft atmosphere. I found that I could create unique applications with data that could live almost anywhere within Microsoft. This could be OneDrive, SharePoint which is home to my most common form of data - Microsoft Lists.
