Product Information on Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management

Updated 13th October 2025

What is Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management?

Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management software provides automated discovery, inventory, and classification of IT, cloud, and internet-connected assets within an organization. The software identifies devices across the environment, associates context such as asset ownership and location, and tracks changes to configurations and vulnerabilities. It integrates asset data with security monitoring and compliance workflows to help organizations prioritize remediation efforts and reduce risk exposure. The software delivers visibility into unmanaged or unauthorized assets, supports policy enforcement, and enhances the response to potential cyber threats by allowing organizations to continuously monitor the security posture of their asset landscape.

Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management Pricing

Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management software uses a subscription-based pricing model that is typically structured according to the number of assets managed. Pricing may vary based on the selected modules, asset counts, and chosen features within the software. Organizations are usually charged on a recurring basis, such as annually, based on their usage tier.

“Comprehensive Product Faces Setbacks Due To Inconsistent Technical Support Quality”

4.0
Oct 28, 2025
The two negatives that I'd share before going into the positives are not necessarily huge. However, they did affect my ability to work with the product and customize it. 1. Customer Service - The L1 technicians were often slow to respond and clearly used a templated response, without sharing knowledge of the issues among themselves. I'm not sure how this happens but there were a couple of instances where it took over a month to connect with someone who could assist in a troubleshooting session. 2. TAMs having varying skill levels - Currently, we have a Technical Account Manager who is very skilled in the product and also in the realm of vulnerability management. However, the TAMs have changed regularly before him, and the experience has been up and down. Qualys is pretty extensive, as well as being comprehensive. I would recommend having two or more well-versed operators in larger environments. Qualys also needs good planning, in order to make the most of what it has to offer. This would be done by way of already having a well-planned strategy that it is a part of. It's easy to get lost in the weeds. When configured correctly and in perspective of a good strategy, Qualys can be used to automate many important day to day processes and reporting. Again, though, Qualys needs to set up correctly. This is to prevent excessive time reconfiguring and recovering from incorrect implementation.

The Qualys asset management solution is good in visibility of different attacks on both internally and externally attack surface, The integrations with other IT products existing in the environment integration needs to be improved and in cost wise it is high when compared with other caasm solutions and that part needs attention.

Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management Likes & Dislikes

Like

Comprehensive, extensive and granular. Qualys can be manipulated in many ways to implement a good Information Security program.

Like

1. The product provide the automated vulnerability management which helps to save much time and human energy. It also identifies the internal and external attacks in the single solution that makes it more reliable and key feature. 2. the Scalability also plays a key role in qualys as it can be scalable when the organziation grows and expands as per the needs. 3. Classification of the asset and dynamic tagging mechanism, this helps to organize and categorize the assets which is very helpful in filtering the assets.

Like

The dept of visibility i am getting CSAM is something which i like the most, Zombie systems or forgotten assets are the biggest risk in the asset management and CSAM helps uncover that quickly. Integrating all the assets with vulnerability management is seamless. The continous discovery feature is also worth metioning, we have a pool of dynamic assets and the continous discovery makes our life easier.

Dislike

The product is pretty competent. The support system hampers it, though.

Dislike

1. The product license cost is high when compared to other CAASM solutions. the license cost can be reduced and new features can be included. 2. Integration with other existing IT Products needs to be improved. As some well known It products integration with qualys is not supporting and complicated with other products integration. 3. Customization is not there, the customization as per the needs should be taken into account and improve. the customized reports cannot be generated as per the requirements and that is the disadvantage of the prduct.

Dislike

The complexity of the platform is a downside, a very rigourous onboarding training is required. For a new user, the platform will be difficult to understand.

Qualys CSAM gives us much needed single pane of glass view for understanding our asset inventory and reducing blind spots. Having all devices, services , applns automatically discovered and keeping upto date with automated patching has been phenomenal; and this also helped in improving our overall security posture.

External Attack Surface Risk Assessment Stands Out In Qualys Asset Management

Overall, the Qualys CyberSecurity Asset Management solution. We love the Qualys name, which is one of the main reasons we went with them, as well as the fact that we utilize other solutions from the security company. The solution offers a bunch of features we were looking for even though we looked over some of the concerns we read about.
