In my experience SAP HANA a high performance in-memory database platform designed to run on a dedicated hardware to optimize performance. While the virtualization technologies it is important that it introduces additional overhead and impact performance. Running virtualization on HANA does not provide the same level of performance. SAP has improved a lot but still i feel long way to go.
