When we started our SAP IBP Journey around 2016, the product itself was new. However, SAP achieved to deliver on a quarterly base new functionalities and innovations so that we can use nowadays a quite mature state-of-the art Supply Chain Planning System of Excellence. In addition SAP has taken up current Artificial Intelligence I trends which is a very important future topic for our company. Moreover the direct connection to SAP's SAC helps us to have Analytics Capabilities on hand.

SAP Integrated Business Planning Likes & Dislikes

Like

Main features for us are - amongst others - that IBP supports the planning at multiple aggregation levels (e. g. product, customer, region, channel) and based on that the immediate visibility into forecast changes and its impacts. Also the usage of statistical forecasting capabilities and machine learning algorithms or the improvement of short-term forecasting via demand sensing are key aspects for us to forecast our worldwide markets. For response planning the opportunities provided to enable Order Promising - and to allocate goods to customers based on their importance and profitibility - and especially in constrained environments and situations - helps us tremdendously to keep visibility, to proactively steer our global supply chains and to actively manage bottleneck situations keeping up customer satisfaction for our most important customers.
