FAVORABLE

“Comprehensive analyses and value stream mapping, but implementation remains complex.”

4.0
May 29, 2026
This product helps us transform the way we present IT costs and improve IT cost transparency from Excel spreadsheets to a more holistic, integrated view of IT operating expenses. It will serve as our single source of truth for IT expenditures/costs according to the TBM model (something SAP Finance doesn't offer). This will ensure that costs are accurate according to the model, preventing numerous employees from conducting their own analyses based on their own data, unclear data, or data that is difficult to trace. It will reduce workload, improve quality, simplify and accelerate access to information for service owners and service users, and, in the medium term, reduce IT costs and make the use of IT capital more efficient.

CRITICAL

“Flexible setup with extensive customization but limited integration options and longer runtimes for companies with comprehensive data”

3.0

Very flexible setup and can accommodate many features and customizations. The flip-sides are low integration capabilities to other systems, missing TCO engine out of the box and difficulties setting up role-based authorization.

We use it mainly for IT cost tracking and reporting. My experience with this product has been good. It is easy to use and helps in managing daily tasks efficiently. The system is stable and works well for our business needs. It has improved our work flow and reduced manual effort. However there are some areas where improvement is needed, like performance speed and user interface. Overall, it is a reliable tool and useful for our operations.

Solid platform for routine tasks, but customization proves expensive

    5.0
    Jun 8, 2026
Overall, my satisfation with this software provider is quite average, as the platform offers a mixed bag of excellent features and noteable drawbacks. On the positive side, their allocation model is great and data normalization well structured. Furthermore, the provider demonstrates a really good understanding of their customers, ensuring that our business needs a graped quickly. Standardised reporting functions available but driven by provides reporting choice. However, any need for customization beyond the standard out-of-the-box features comes with a significant price tag. It is a solid choice for repetive, static use cases, but larger changes or rapid set ups might find it too rigid and expansive to get startet.

Serviceware Financial Likes & Dislikes

Like

Previously, the form of the evaluations (the reporting) was limited. With this tool, we are creating a significantly better value stream map from cost origin to invoicing, which we expect will lead to a sustainable improvement in cost efficiency.

Like

Contains both planning capabilities (forecasting and budgeting) and TCO calculations and chargeback functionalities - so the full process (although in 2 sub systems). Embedded dashboards with Power BI. Detailed ad-hoc reporting.

Like

The best things about this product are its easy-to-use-interface, good reporting features and smooth integrations with other systems. It helps in tracking data accurately and saves time in daily operations. Another strong point is its reliability and support team. which responds quickly when an issue arises. Overall, it makes work more organized and efficient.

Dislike

Currently, ServiceWare seems to be experiencing challenges with its interfaces to SAP and ServiceNow. Furthermore, we encountered difficulties with single sign-on during implementation. In my estimation, the interaction between the Performance and Financial modules within the ServiceWare landscape is also not yet fully mature. Additionally, we faced challenges in implementing all our requirements (basic needs such as investment planning) within the tool.

Dislike

Runtime for jobs can be longer. There is only one job que. 2 separate systems for planning and TCO/Charging.

Dislike

There are a few areas where the product can be improved. First, the system performance can sometimes be slow, especially when working with large data and reports. Second, the user interface feels a bit outdated and could be more modern and user-friendly. Third, customization options are limited in some areas, which makes it difficult to adjust the tool exactly as per business needs. Also, the initial setup and learning takes some time for new users.
