Integration with Teams and Onedrive to provide a seamless but fruitful experience. Makes locating and integrating docs and text almost seamless. However, complex data sheets and data files are not as easy to work with and search.
You can store multiple documents in one place and it works easily with MS Teams, One Drive, and Outlook. The security and data protection is also great, making me feel like my documents will be safe.
1. Customizable - The possibilities are endless and you can really tailor SharePoint to meet the needs of your team 2. Security - only give access to specific people who need it and access can go down to a specific document 3. Editing shared documents - multiple people can edit one document at a time and updates are made in real time and saved. Previous version history is easy to access, you don't have to worry about accidentally not saving a document and loosing it.
Complex data/files that contain lots of details are hard to categorise, scan and search. Dedicated Insight engines offer much more, but again it is down to cost versus benefit. Search is not as advanced as it could be and uner testing/evaluation we used another insight engine to assist/better provide search facilites an this worked much better. Not sure what we will be considering, maybe splitting complex and less complex and using the insight engine on the complex only data.
It can be overwhelming for new users. I have had to help co-workers who have never used SharePoint before because they find it confusing and hard to navigate. It can sometimes be a bit clunky when teaching a new hire.
1. Doesn't work well with complex data formulas. If you have macros, uploading to SharePoint will cause some of those macros to stop working 2. Doesn't work very well with PDF documents and updates 3. Although security is a selling feature, it does come with its challenges. If you give someone access to a folder, you can't limit what they see in that folder. If you don't want them to access everything, you have to manually give them access to specific documents. Sharing documents can also become an issue. If you share a document with someone who doesn't have access to a folder but give them editing permissions, they can then share that document with whoever they want.

Integration Within MS Platforms Effective, Limitations Evident Outside Microsoft Ecosystem
This works really well and integrates within our MS Platforms really well. Limitations are apparent when you go outside of the MS environment, such as Google. - SENIOR MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES50M-1B USDMiscellaneousReview Source

SharePoint Enhances File Collaboration, But Trash Bin Functionality Remains Challenging
MS Sharepoint presented huge improvements in past few years, today is the key tool in big organization helping teams to organize all kind of files and to share them across the company. It allows you to collaborate more, sharing files in a fast and simple way. Today Sharepoint is part of my daily routine, I can organize my personal files, project files and even edit them in the online version. This is integrated with all other microsoft tools. One key feature would be to get help from AI to organize the files in different folders, get suggestion on how to split them into more organized folders and AI to identify the duplicity of content, avoiding usage of capacity. - Data Analyst Bi Developer50M-1B USDManufacturingReview Source
Complex Navigation and Governance Needs Affect SharePoint Adoption for New Team Members
My experience with SharePoint has been positive. It's a powerful platform for collaboration and document management, though it cat feel a bit complex at times and requeres good governance to use it efficiently. - PROJECT LEAD<50M USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
SharePoint Simplifies Collaboration But Setup and Navigation Challenges Remain Evident
Overall, I've had a mixed but generally good experience with Microsoft SharePoint. It is an effective platform for managing, sharing and storing documents both within and between departments. It is especially effective for organizations that already use Microsoft products. When everything is set up properly it becomes a very dependable central hub for internal communication and collaboration
