Shelf meets the majority of our knowledge management requirements and continues to support our evolving needs. The platform is user friendly and easy to navigate, which makes adoption much easier for end users. What I value most as a Knowledge Manager is the comprehensive admin and analytics panel. The background reporting and insights give me real visibility into content usage, gaps and optimization opportunities allowing me to manage and improve our knowledge base in a structured and data-driven way.

Customer service is unmatched, the reporting and admin functions are extremely valuable and easy to use, the built-in feature of quality assessment ensures that the documents uploaded remain relevant, up-to-date, and effective.

1. Search Copilot capabilities that improve content discoverability and reduce the time users spend looking for information. The AI-driven search understands intent well and helps surface relevant results quickly. 2. Content Intelligence app provides valuable insights into user behavior and content gaps, which can be customized to the business needs. 3. Content Maintenance app is very helpful for tracking feedback trends to indentify areas that require updates. 4. Admin Panel provides an easy way to manage library access and user permissions. 5. AI-powered features, such as article summaries and the description generator are extremely useful for maintaining clear, optimized and searchable content.

Dislike

There are a few areas where additional functionality would be helpful. More granular personalization options for user access would be valuable, for example the ability to manage permissions on a folder level, not just at the library level. When working with multiple language versions of documents, it would also be beneficial to display all language versions at once instead of switching between them. Additionally, more advanced archive management and faster search options for older documents would improve long term content governance.

Dislike

N/A--in the rare instance where we had an issue, it always proved to be a speedbump and not a roadblock thanks to the Shelf team.

1. Lack of AI-powered feature for generating descriptions for Decision trees. 2. No ability to block, hide or rename the default Organization library for users with admin rights.

    Built-In Tools and Quality Assessment Features Drive Document Library Optimization

    Using Shelf has been a great and transformative experience for the company. Shelf's built-in tools, reporting, and functions helped our team identify redundant, outdated, or trivial documents. We were able to slim our library down from a bloated 30k of obsolete and repetitive documents to around 10k of relevant, effective, and organized documents. Shelf's reporting and admin functions were critical for us to parse data, assign permissions, judge content, and deliver the best information to our entire company. Shelf's support team is also top tier. If an answer couldn't be found in Shelf's published resources, our account manager and the technical team were always quick to respond, communicated clearly, and delivered positive results. In the rare instance that an answer wasn't immediately obvious, the team worked to deliver a solution expeditiously. Submitting feature requests/ideas was simple and met with enthusiasm. The Shelf team realized that any feature requests would likely benefit their platform overall and, if they could be implemented, were. Shelf helped us turn the company's frustrated user base into enthusiastic adopters thanks to the optimized product and service offered.

    Overall, my experience with Shelf has been positive. The search functionality and Copilot capabilities significantly improve discoverability and make it easier to find accurate information. The Content Intelligence and Content Maintenance apps are particularly valuable, as they provide meaningful insights into search behavior, feedback trends, and content gaps, allowing continuous optimization of the knowledge base. At the same time, there are areas where improvements could enhance the experience further. For example, clearer duplicate highlighting, the ability to mark broken links as not broken, and additional transparency in certain backend processes, such as displaying user filters when reviewing Copilot feedback, would further improve the experience.

    Aside from the obvious technical prowess of the platform, the customer experience has been superb. Our rep is always quick to respond to inquiries and open to ideas for new opportunities. We have never had a vendor as attentive and helpful.
