Silverfort operates as an identity security platform that integrates natively with on-prem and cloud-based IAM directories, infrastructures, and SaaS apps—including Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, Ping, AWS, and others. It inspects all authentication and access attempts across human users and machine accounts in hybrid environments, enforcing real-time access policies such as MFA, deny, or Just-in-Time access. It extends security controls to systems not traditionally protected, including legacy apps, IT infrastructure, file shares, and command-line interfaces. Silverfort also performs discovery and classification of privileged users, mapping access behavior to enforce least privilege. Its architecture operates at the authentication layer, enabling centralized policy orchestration across environments. Identifying authentications from the logs is incredibly easy allowing identification of what authentications are occurring so relevant policies can be implemented Controlling access with relevant controls has been incredibly easy with a very clear and concise admin user controls
Read Full ReviewSilverfort's policy options are vast but intuitive. Policies can also be created from the product's logs, pre-filling the majority of the policy. Service account visibility is very good and creating policies around those service accounts is easy. The new privileged access security feature is good and provides options like virtual fencing and just in time access.
Read Full ReviewInsights is an incredible page - it tells you everyday which user or admin is causing issues and which specific ID they are using is causing an issue. Policies are easy enough to make, but I wish the notifications were better.

I have a hard time coming up with many issues with the product itself, there are some nit-picky things like if you want to upgrade to a newer version, you must get approval from support or your account manager, then they allow that update to push down to your appliances. There were some issues with virtual nodes in past versions, but support was quick to gather logs, implement a work around, then provide a patch that resolved the issue all in a timely manner.
