Silverfort operates as an identity security platform that integrates natively with on-prem and cloud-based IAM directories, infrastructures, and SaaS apps—including Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, Ping, AWS, and others. It inspects all authentication and access attempts across human users and machine accounts in hybrid environments, enforcing real-time access policies such as MFA, deny, or Just-in-Time access. It extends security controls to systems not traditionally protected, including legacy apps, IT infrastructure, file shares, and command-line interfaces. Silverfort also performs discovery and classification of privileged users, mapping access behavior to enforce least privilege. Its architecture operates at the authentication layer, enabling centralized policy orchestration across environments. This allows organizations to prevent credential compromise, lateral movement, and privilege escalation while maintaining full visibility and control over identity activity.

Our decision point was based on the great support we received during our time bound PoV as well as our urgent deployment and this has continued well into our 4 years in production. Return on Security Investment was also a major consideration for us and Silverfort proved that they were able to execute on our required control requirements while keeping pricing and costs within appetite. Recognition signals related to our use-cases were met and all issues Identified were addressed in exceptional time and our feature enhancements requests were and are always well prioritised. Technically the solution met all our expectations with enforcing MFA, ring-fencing service account usage and bringing authentication violations to the fore. Our administrators were well trained and continue to perform policy administration without the need for constant assistance. Our users while apprehensive with our control objectives at first have adapted well to using MS and Silverfort Authenticator solutions. User based risk evaluation continues to benefit us within our SOC and our overall security posture.
