We brought in Sophos because we were already using Sophos Central for our server and desktop endpoints, and we wanted a "single pane of glass" to manage our mobile fleet. Overall, the results have been a net positive for keeping tabs on both corporate-owned and BYOD phones. Having the security policies for laptops and mobile devices in one dashboard is incredibly convenient. However, it hasn't been a totally smooth ride. The initial enrollment workflow, especially for our iOS users, caused a lot of friction, and getting policies to instantly sync when a device goes out of compliance can sometimes take longer than it should.

Sophos Mobile Likes & Dislikes

Like

- Unified Sophos Central Management: Not having to log into a completely separate console just to check mobile compliance is a massive time saver. If you are already in the Sophos ecosystem, the learning curve for the layout is minimal. - Built-in Intercept & Protection: X is a top-tier mobile threat defense. The platform doesn't just do basic device tracking; it blocks malicious URLs and scans for sketchy apps on our Android devices before they can touch our network. - Sophos Container for BYOD : The containerization feature works great for our employees' personal phones. It lets us isolate corporate email and corporate data into a secure sandbox without us having to fully control or spy on the employee's personal apps and photos.
