Performance of SUSE Rancher Across Market Features
SUSE Rancher Likes & Dislikes
That it supports vanilla K8S, has built-in integration with private code repositories and LDAP servers, has a large and active community, and supports many deployment options, both for the software itself and for the clusters as well.
Easy integration with our virtualization platform
SUSE team hit on things we needed without us even asking about them. The implementation with SUSE went very smooth and the software immediately gave us an effective and affordable way to keep track of our software licences, track how those licences are allocated and utilized across the business, and improved ability to monitor our computers.
Support for new cloud provider functions sometimes lag a month or two behind, debugging cluster bootstrap is sometimes opaque and hard to understand, node IP management for certain providers needs to be handled manually or with scripts.
Rancher need to have access to internet so they need to have option to acces central repository instead that the only option is intenet
If you only have to manage one or some few Kubernetes clusters, it would surely be too much overhead to use SUSE Rancher.

SUSE Rancher Reviews and Ratings

Rancher - an actually good cluster management platform
My experience ranges from exceptional to poor, where it heavily depends on what you are trying to achieve. Installation is smooth, cluster deployment varies on the platform, CNI and CSI you are tying to use, workload management is satisfactory, cluster extensions management is hit or miss, depending on the version and support for it on Rancher. But overall it is still my go-to platform for cluster management, since it has broad support for many enterprise solutions out of the box. - Vice President Information Technology1B-10B USDManufacturingReview Source

Great Kubernetes orchestrator with not so great TechSupport
Rancher is a great Kubernetes orchestrator; we've been working with it for a couple of years now and overall, it has been a nice experience we have had some issues with it but when we started considering and evaluating other options like Spectro Cloud we realized how much of a help Rancher is.
