So easy to pay people and keep track of payment, time worked, and the work diary is so helpful to reassure that they aren't goofing off.

Honestly nothing. If I have to say something it's that old contracts are still on my screen when I check current ones, but that may just be because I don't know how to hide them.
The freelancer option to boost a proposal forcing them to the top of the applications (just because of the boost, not because is a good match) is annoying, you need to get used to ignore the first 4 proposals and focus on the ones that are not boosted.
the desktop app could use a facelift, but I use the webapp most of the time, so not a big concern.
