I really like how reliable the product is, the backups run consistently once we have configured them and the restores are straightforward. With regards to the service, their support is easy to get on a call and they are knowledgeable and helpful.
Support and Services, Vulnerability fixes, Integration with major Virtualization
One license for all the workload is a benefit that I would emphasize more. Easy installation of the agent and the creation of jobs for those work load is commendable. Veeam vault integration is a crucial part as well as Veeam provides its own storage which is immutable and air gapped too which protects us from ransomware which is awesome for us.
My main dislike about the product has to do with the security more so than the functions of the product. Out of all of the applications/products we use, this unfortunately has had the most amount of high severity CVE's that have affected the product. While I understand that all applications do have high severity CVE's, I personally feel out of all the products we use, this has had the most, on the other hand to this, Veeam is quick to get patches out to patch the application and resolve this as soon as possible.
Features aren't in a state where you can rely on them.
Recently we tried taking backup of Linux machine and it generated few errors which were new for Veeam too and got fixed after a hotfix of Veeam software, I think Veeam should take care of these things before hand. Reboot is required for the server after installation of any agent which becomes an issue. User Interface can be improved and backup directly to tape should be allowed.
