VMware vCloud Director Likes & Dislikes
The vCloud Director user console is very interactive and provides lots of dashboards capabilities which can be customized based on needs.
great for Building virtual racks Managing the customers' network and security, Simplicity but the completeness of IaaS solution, Integration with major software providers
The ability for our team to create vApp Templates, this makes it easy for our product reps to check out environments with different versions of our software installed, for testing/troubleshooting. Without vCloud, it would be difficult for the team to efficiently work on multiple versions of our software.
vCD some time have issues with the API calls it makes to the vSphere and we see deficiencies in the vSphere inventory when compared to vCloud Director
I have a problem with Backup and integration with SDS different than vSAN
I've had challenges with copying and pasting from my local machine to the vCloud environment. This causes inefficiencies, and lengthy/tedious data input. It can also be difficult mimicking our clients environments and getting MS updates patches applied, or linking multiple environments.

Not Perfect but it's easy to use, gets the job done, and it's paramount to our business
I've been using vCloud for about 5 years now, and the overall experience has been positive. My company releases 2 versions of our software each year, and vCloud has been paramount for our product rep team, as they're constantly utilizing vClouds virtual environments to "check out" templates with different versions for testing/troubleshooting. As an end user, i think the UI is pretty intuitive, and easy to use, and the creation of vApp templates is very beneficial for us. Most frustrations stem from system performance. You need to be patient, as system performance can be slow at times. Copying/pasting can be challenging as well, and its not always consistent, which is inefficient. - System and Network specialist1B-10B USDIT ServicesReview Source
