I deployed and have been the primary sysadmin for a OSS Zimbra installation since 2013. We currently run between 100 and 200 users. I have appreciated many things about Zimbra over the years, but it definitely has its drawbacks. It is not something I recommend for new linux admins. Zimbra as a software company has bounced around a lot and it has suffered over the last decade because of it. It seems that may be changing, but they now only provide a commercial product and have stopped providing install packages and only provide build from source for the open source community. This has made it really only suitable in a commercial environment as a paid for service. This, however, is the primary way that any responsible sysadmin should operate a mission critical system like Zimbra.
