1) Low code Architecture - Combination of Drag & Drop form development, workflows and deluge scripting allows me to build highly customized applications without relying on Full stack development. 2) Integration using API's - API's, Webhooks, Native Connections for integration with other Zoho products makes the data flow or integration and it helps for process automation in the system straight forward. 3)Scalability & Security - From a technical standpoint, scalability and security is also very good. More importantly, role-based access permissions and the customer portal are very good features that I like very much in Creator.
- for our non-Engineers, the WYSIWYG style editor was easy to grasp and not too intimidating - there were some out of the box integrations which did help support some of the tasks the team needed and they felt empowered to continue implementing their own solutions
What I like most about it is how simple and flexible it is to use. Even without deep technical knowledge, we can build apps, automatic tasks, and customize things easily. It saves a lot of time and reduces the manual work of the team. I also like that after integration with other apps, it gives clear reports. Overall it makes the daily processes much smoother and more organized.
Debugging and error handling can be better. During the failure of workflows or Deluge script, the error messages are too generic which consumes a lot of time for troubleshooting. Change Management is very limited. Managing multiple developers and tracking changes across environments is not as smooth as traditional development tools and can be tricky if a new developer comes in and works on the solution. I found the reporting and analytics flexibility to be a little low. Standard reports work well, but highly customized or complex analytical dashboards often require workarounds or external tools.
- lack of customization outside of WYSIWYG editor when it comes to making custom UI components and adding additional UI behaviours - lack of customization for adding custom APIs to hook more into our internal system to build a truly end-to-end experience for our internal teams - stick shock on billing as costs were not immediate transparent to us
One thing I dislike about Zoho creator is that some advanced features require a bit of technical knowledge, which is confusing at first. The interface is good but can feel slightly slow or overwhelming when there are too many forms and workflows. Sometimes small customizations take extra steps.
