The platform differentiates itself in three critical ways. First and foremost, it is a highly competent email platform that gets so many things right, from deliverability to campaign management, without any of it feeling overwhelming. Second, it is extremely flexible in terms of connectivity, supporting classics like SFTP and REST API alongside out-of-the-box integrations with Zapier and other platforms. Third, it is clear that the team and company are genuinely focused on email marketing. It never feels like a side platform, a refreshing contrast to the many larger ESPs where requests are routinely ignored or met with lip service.
It is easy to use and figure out.
The ability to hook into external data sources such as Shopify and the ability to create arbitrary data stores to extend our picture of an individual customer are the main USPs for me. That and the excellent deliverability record we've had since moving to Adestra.
One main issue is that most of the support team beyond your account manager will be located in a European time zone. This can complicate matters further for any late-in-the-day issues that arise. Reporting could be more robust in platform, including the handling of the current issues with privacy shielding of pixels, but overall does well enough for day-to-day work. The new Audiences tool will likely fill those gaps as well. Finally, there are a few features that we wish were more robust, including the types of data files that can be uploaded and mapped and the way dates and other number fields are handled.
Not as customizable as I would like.
The current email editor (as of March 2026) has some limitations compared to modern CMS systems. However, there is a new email editor in development (we've seen a demo) which appears to fix these issues. The current editor is fine, but it's just not especially fast/flexible.
