Broad capabilities, it is secure and scales.
At this point there is nothing I like about it.
I like how the OOTB product doesn't change much and is extensible enough using metadata, OOTB APIs, etc..
User Interface - Lacks any OOTB options to simplify user interaction or create multiple Portal entry points that are specific to user roles. ie: Vendor (asset supplier) landing page for ingests, Video specific landing page, Author landing page, etc. The soon to be deprecated Brand Portal option took a stab at that, but only allows ONE portal/landing page. I was involved with a previous employer building an entire UI based on Asset Share Framework, worked beautiful but took development resources, a sizable budget, and was not supported by Adobe. Reporting options and tools are almost non-existent - Would love to be able to use OOTB industry BI tools to access asset data, use data, log data etc. Cost of non-author user licenses. - Someone who simply searches, views, downloads should not have a named user cost that is the same as someone who has full upload, edit capability. This used to be different, but was changed in recent years. Content Hub is slowly attempting to relieve some of that pressure, but lacks features to enable it to act as a primary ingest or delivery vehicle
Vendor support, even with a top-tier service contract, is sub-par, with service issues usually needing direct software engineer intervention. Delays waiting for engineers to address our issues resulted in some urgent issues--like sync issues that led to the inability to read what our total size usage was per week/month/to-date--taking months to resolve.
1. I dislike the new cloud native developments, specifically the support teams assigned to them, really bad service. 2. Documentation provided by Adobe as usual is lacking when you need it the most, there's only superficial documentation and for deeper stuff, you need to either dig online or figure out a solution yourself. 3. OOTB integrations are horrible and basic, you'll need to build custom services for any integration you want to work well.

Great capabilities but needs a more intuitive interface to better support vastly differing role needs
I have administered AEM Assets for 6 - 7 years since 2015. Broad capabilities but requires much dev work to accomplish many things that really should be OOTB UI based. - APPLICATIONS ENGINEER1B-10B USDManufacturingReview Source
Main Product Stays Reliable While Adobe Support And Integrations Disappoint
It has been a mixed experience unfortunately, there aren't any issues with the main product itself but there's a lot of development around this product that we're implementing (cloud native features) that have been causing issues because of bad development/management practices from Adobe - DAM Specialist II50M-1B USDTravel and HospitalityReview Source
Product Changed Completely Over Contract Term With Poor Vendor Communication
Product was not as promised in contract; product changed completely over the terms of our 3-year contract; vendor does not communicate new releases or updates to customers. - NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR50M-1B USDIT ServicesReview Source
Efficient Asset Management With Strong Search and Reliable Version Control Features
Overall my experience with Adobe Experience Manager Assets has been smooth, I can easily share the updated assets with my team so everyone stays on the same page and the version control is powerful so i dont lose any older version of my files. - SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER50M-1B USDConsumer GoodsReview Source
