Central repository for monthend close which can be used for audit trial as well
It's better than using spreadsheets, but not by much.
All account reconciliations and tasks are available all in one place. Going to Balancer and choosing the period I want to research is much more efficient than sifting through physical records or an electronic file directory.
Tool to keep your monthend close activities & related documentation with visibility to managers on pending tasks
Clunky, cumbersome, not very intuitive. Far prefered using BlackLine.
Regarding Balancer, the updated user interface includes some changes that are not the most favorable for my team. The auto-save feature is nice, but we have lost the ability to update line items without having to commit the changes. Our work around has been to take screen shots of the reconciliation before making changes in case we need to revert. Another change that came from the updated UI that makes sense for security but is not practical for our build was restricting users to only viewing their assigned accounts in the system. Our team often needs to refer to accounts that may not belong to them. It would be helpful if this was something we could disable. Lastly, there is a feature allowing the approver to mass export the attached documentation on an account. This is currently not working when you use the select all items button. I am still able to export individual documents and line items.
