What I like most is that it works, and that if we ever have a problem with any of the models for the 28 daily and monthly reports, Altair is happy to help with technical issues beyond our understanding. What I truly appreciate is that Altair helped us create the models to convert our daily and monthly stat reports to usable downloadable files, using our own reports. They did not just sell us the service and then leave us to figure it out on our own.

I like the ability to manipulate data and being able to get data from .txt and .pdf files

Monarch offers extensive options for file input and output formats. Their tools allow simple conversion of an external file into a language we can read. Monarch also allows significant segmentation of data over our large database of records. We frequently ingest a number of records far beyond the capacity of EXCEL allowing us to filter and select a targeted set of records that can be exported to EXCEL for analysis by a wider range of users. When our SQL-based Business Intelligence group is faced with a request that would consume more resources than can be committed, the Monarch users are asked to step in to satisfy an immediate need. Monarch offers regular Ask the Expert online sessions at no charge to users for direct interaction with Altair subject matter experts. As an experienced user, I try to join whenever possible even if the subject matter seems to cover topics with which I am already familiar. During the 1-hour session, I always learn more about the tool that I thought I knew well.

What I dislike the most is that we did not find this sooner.

Limitations of logic when creating calculated columns. Only being able to import .txt files as files that will be trapped when we receive several files in .txt format that are actually pipe-delimited text files, etc.

A recent change in licensing and pricing structure almost prevented our budgetary ability to renew. Working with the sales team, a phased approach provided enough relief that made the product cost more reasonable.
