The platform allows you to build, adjust and scale planning models quickly without heavy IT dependency. Real-time calculations, strong scenario planning, and seamless collaboration across teams make it a powerful solution for complex demand planning environments. The interface is modern and intuitive, and the ability to connect assumptions, drivers and plans dynamically creates a much more agile and transparent planning process.
Its easy to develop for the developers
1. Anaplan is immensely flexible. 2. Anaplan integrates well with different middleware / reporting software (e.g. Tableau/Power BI). 3. Can handle the majority of low-sparsity data use cases. Polaris can handle the higher-sparsity use cases, but we've experienced some issues with Polaris.
My experience with Anaplan is based on the demos, so it's hard to identify major dislikes. The only area that stood out was that some of the more advanced modeling and configuration options appeared complex and would likely require time to fully learn. Additionally, a few of the integrations and data loading workflows seemed like they might need support during initial setup. These are not product flaws, just observations from the demo rather than hands-on use.
It becomes slow with large no of users and the Platform support had also been poor
1. Anaplan is not natively good at hosting high volumes of very granular data. They have an enhanced calculation engine called Polaris, that my organization has used, but we've still encountered issues with the Polaris platform. 2. Anaplan support (from Anaplan organization) is iterative, and often more complicated issues a buyer/admin user faces need to be repeated to several levels of Anaplan support. This can sometimes extend the resolution cycle. When I open a support case, I am not confident that it will be resolved or addressed in a timely manner.
