The platform allows you to build, adjust and scale planning models quickly without heavy IT dependency. Real-time calculations, strong scenario planning, and seamless collaboration across teams make it a powerful solution for complex demand planning environments. The interface is modern and intuitive, and the ability to connect assumptions, drivers and plans dynamically creates a much more agile and transparent planning process.
I like that you can process large amounts of data, manage by exceptions, and produce informative visuals aids to make decisions.
You can customize it for your business specific needs Once initial model and data hub are built, it is very easy to add on features really enriching forecast capabilities It is very user friendly, functions similar to excel so easy user adoption
My experience with Anaplan is based on the demos, so it's hard to identify major dislikes. The only area that stood out was that some of the more advanced modeling and configuration options appeared complex and would likely require time to fully learn. Additionally, a few of the integrations and data loading workflows seemed like they might need support during initial setup. These are not product flaws, just observations from the demo rather than hands-on use.
I dont like that you have to be very knowledgeable of model building to make changes and that in our instance we need to be cautious of the amount of data we have available to use before we get charged more.
It does require dedicated support as it is a high maintence tool. This does allow for flexibility from a build POV to really customize it to your business. The downside to this is that it can be over engineered and you do need to make sure you have headcount to support the tool. The tool can be slow if not built to Anaplan best practices.
