Avatax: Efficient Sales Tax Calculation Across Complex US Laws
Avatax deals very well with its main purpose - it calculates the sales tax in respect of various complicated tax rules in the US. It generally doesn't require too much maintenance and is easily scalable which is important when the company increases sales within new regions of the world, breaking the thresholds where registering for tax purposes is mandatory. What didn't quite work for us was when the service was majorly disrupted for a few days and the issue wasn't discovered promptly - I feel there was no adequate compensation offered.
