Performance of Fonoa Across Market Features
Fonoa Likes & Dislikes
1) Hands on support. Troubleshooting does not go only through the support function, the technical (management)team is always ready to consult us (and their support team) on the calls, to make sure that the best technical solution to a problem is provided. 2) Once the API is integrated, adding new markets to use the service is easy and can be set up by customer (our) operational team 3) Fonoa is always ready to support us if we want to expand to a market they currently do not have in their portfolio. In such cases, their tax team works closely with ours, to make sure that the solution being built will be compliant and will work with the rest of the product. 4) In case of maintenance procedures in either Fonoa system or on local governments side, we are proactively notified of upcoming disruption to the service, giving us the time to notify our local teams and partners
The API is intuitive and consistent, which makes the integration process easy. Fonoa supports a wide range of countries and jurisdictions, which is essential for a global company like ours. While full coverage is still a work in progress, the current offering already supports many key markets and continues to grow. The integration process has been efficient, with a good balance between implementation speed and quality. Exceptional support from the Fonoa team was a crucial part of the equation in achieving both the speed of integration and successfully handling edge case scenarios.
E-Invoicing thoughts Th API solution requires up front effort to integrate but once it is in place it is seamless. TIN Lookup The solution is pretty unique in the market. With a seamless approach to being able to perform due diligence on customers as part of the dac7 requirements means that we can meet the requirements seamlessly.
1. For markets where Fonoa has expanded with only one type of partners before, they might need to work on how to accommodate different types of services, prolonging the implementation process 2. The self-service dashboard is still work in progress, could have a bit better functions 3. While maintenance procedures are announced in a timely manner, there have been several instances where significant changes to the API were not announced on time, causing unplanned disruption to the service 4. Error mapping is work in progress
While the platform isn't specifically designed for prepaid models, it's obvious that the initial clients were largely prepaid oriented. As a result, some of the functionalities needed for postpaid invoice handling are still under development or require custom approaches. Although Fonoa covers many major markets well, there are still countries where the support is not yet available. The documentation is generally well-organized and easy to follow, but it occasionally lacks depth in more complex or country-specific edge cases.
I think ensuring that there is deep understanding about the capabilities and onboarding means that there is more that can be done to ensure a smoother onboarding process and take advantage of all of its capabilities.
