Performance of Azure Boards Across Market Features
Azure Boards Likes & Dislikes
Convenience - user-friendly interface Security - a natural part of DevOps projects connected to RBAC model who can access and do what Flexibility - a lot of different filters to build your own view Reporting - we use custom reports for planning iterations integrated with people's capacity
The ability to get started with initial offers from the platform in a relatively quick time is a big advantage. The platform has been streamlined to make it more intuitive for use, reducing the learning curve.
Azure Boards are great when you have the entire Azure DevOps package integration with pipelines, repositories, reviews was excellent. The UI is fluid and responsive. Creating new items was quick and easy. It allows Kanban Boards and Scrum boards, easy filtering and searching of features. Bonus point, though not crucial, the UI was excellent on mobile.
1) Export capabilities should be better. It is very nice and easy to build a report inside of the solution, but we struggle if/when it is needed to export data for presenting that separately in csv/word/pdf formats. There are no good options for that today. It is assumed that all stakeholders sit inside the product. 2) Azure Boards is part of the Microsoft solution, so the dislike is related to the lack of capabilities with 3rd party tools (non Microsoft) integration 3) Performance - this could be part of the Azure DevOps issue, but it affects Azure Boards as well. Sometimes we experience delays and it kind of hangs and you need to refresh the screen. It doesn't happen often, but there is room for improvement.
Heavy reliance on the Azure/Microsoft Ecosystem Lack of customization capabilities for advanced use cases Inconsistent user experience across the different functionalities within the platform.
When you buy into Azure DevOps Boards, you're buying into an entire ecosystem. Sure, it can be used without the entire ecosystem, but the integration is no quite as flawless. This is a problem for the portability because it becomes more difficult to switch a vendor. Another aspect is that, coming from a Jira background the workflow was not easy to customize, Azure DevOps is opinionated in its workflow with Features/PBI's. Even though this is just a name, people that are used to working in a Scrum environment usually have a different terminology. Finally the statistics that Azure Boards offers is still reliant on the process of a team. I think that's a missed opportunity as Azure has all the information from the test suite and the repository, much more valuable information could be offered.

We actively use Azure DevOps to implement Agile for all the processes in the company (not only software development). Azure Boards is something that we use multiple times a day to check what's going on, what was done. etc. It works awesome - we can confirm that we have a very good overall experience. It is very convenient, flexible and user-friendly. - IT Associate50M-1B USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source

Azure Boards Accelerates Team Collaboration and Workflow That Can Be Enhanced With More Features

Azure Boards Centralizes Workflows but May Challenge New Users with Complexity
Azure Boards has really been helpful in keeping projects organized and tracking work across teams. I like how it ties in with the rest of Azure DEVOPS which makes it easier to see everything in one place. It works well once you get the hang of it, but it can feel a little overwhelming at first, and some features take time to figure out. - SOFTWARE DEVELOPER<50M USDSoftwareReview Source
Azure Boards Links Work Items, Branches, and History for Better Tracking
Azure Boards has allowed my team to create work items or bugs that we want implemented or fixed in our web application. Additionally, you can view the history of activities on each card on a board, which allows quality assurance testers to find out which developer worked on an item and ask questions as needed. And, branches and pull requests are linked to a card, which makes it easy to find the changes made.
