Needed a low-cost, highly scalable object storage service. We were using another vendor and it was very costly and we trialed BackBlaze and thought it was very easy to set up and use as we integrated it with our Veeam backup server.

CRITICAL

“Easy Deployment Is Overshadowed By Slowness Handling Extensive Backup Storage”

3.0
Sep 8, 2025
In our case, the product worked properly until we increased the amount of data we stored, in our case backups (around 36TB). The setup and deployment are easy to do, but after some time as we increased the amount of data, we started to have gransfer issues, and the management tools (like the file explorer), became very slow as they were not prepared for the volume of files.

B2 Cloud storage is a really good product, it's way too easy to use, reliable, it's a solid choice for cloud storage and for me it was the best product for organization backup, the pricing is great compared to competitions and the setup for this product is straightforward and easy to implement.

Transition From Monthly To Annual Subscription Supported By Responsive Service Team

We have been utilizing BackBlaze for a few years now, on a month to month subscription basis. I worked with our CSM Josh R to move to an annual subscription model. He provided us with multiple options and quick answers to questions. They worked within our process to get us set up, which we truly appreciate.

Performance of Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage Across Market Features

Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage Likes & Dislikes

Like

Backblaze B2 is very low cost compared to other cloud providers. There are a lot of available as S3 compatible APIs making it easier to integrate with existing tools and applications. Pay-as-you-go pricing is helpful for smaller companies that do not have a lot of data.

Like

It follows the keep it simple philosophy, is very easy to prepare and the management of the S3 buckets is effective and smart , and its price is very competitive.

Like

Egress policies, along with speed and durability.

Dislike

Weekend and after-hours support is limited. There are also fewer data center regions compared to the major providers which can affect latency and compliance requirements for certain geographies.

Dislike

Whe the volum of information and the number of files grows a lot (in our case over 25TB), the service causes problems. We've suffered transfer issues and browsing problems within the file repositories (S3 buckets in our case).

Dislike

There could be more emphasis on partner integration as new technology providers surface.
