    BMC Helix is a one stop centralized solution to be able to manage and perform all IT tasks starting with 1. discovering all assets in the Infrastructure to manage them through automation and 2. securing them vulnerability scan and fix them through Change (or other ITIL processes) 3. by having tightly integrated with ITSM/ServiceNow 4. monitoring the assets and triggering the events to ITSM .. and many more

BMC Helix Platform Likes & Dislikes

Like

Easy to configure customer side views (DWP) Availability of training/guidance Future AI roadmap (were still on this journey due to complex security requirements)

Like

I like that it runs on Kubernetes - the general nature and high availability of that technology is appealing.

Like

I like the dashboards, they make reporting easy and the scheduled reporting saves me time. The Employee Navigator feature is a big bonus. In the past we used the chatbot feature which was clunky and unreliable. The support staff is great; they've been with us every step of the process. There are a number of AI agents that help automate ticket closure and reporting.

Dislike

As its built ontop old systems (Mid Tier), some of the configuration can be tricky as its not always obvious or in the same place. The vendor we use to support is still focused on Mid Tier config so we have a mixed approach

Dislike

The ITSM Upgrade pipeline is very fragile. Every upgrade we find a litany of new issues that will cripple the process. When upgrades fail there is no support to recover... you must restore from backup before upgrade processes began. I can't think of any organization large enough to pay the licensing fees... on top of the support and infrastructure costs that would be okay with losing hours of data in a production environment... oh yeah did I mention that upgrading... even a subset of the total ITSM suite of products can take upwards of 8 hours? Brutal.

Dislike

It's based on ITIL which is pretty rigid. The change control process should be a lot smoother.
