This is an Awesome telephony solution provided by Cisco for a small to the midsized location of 10 450 users. Once it is set it is reliable.
central management platform
This product does not have Redundancy in case of failure and CME cannot scale to more sites or users (450). Also, CME cannot cater to complex requirements as Cisco Call Manager does with its granular level of configuration.

"ONE BOX SOLUTION" for deploying telephony at your remote / branch site office
This is an Awesome telephony solution provided by Cisco for a small to the midsized location of 10 – 450 users. Depending on the number of users and model of the gateway used, we can deploy and configure CME on network gateway itself. Most companies prefer to install and run CME and the back-up network Gateway. Cisco CME can’t provide the granular level of configuration or flexibility to cater to the complex needs of the customer, however, is the best solution for remote and branch office sites. CME can integrate with third-party application solutions which are either on-premises or service provider-hosted deployment scenarios and can cater most of the requirements of a branch office. CME can be used as a contact center for small to mid-sized companies and we can design IVR, Auto Attendant call flows to cater to the requirements of remote / branch offices. CME can be used to as Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony equipment, which can cater calls without interruption when the WAN link between the Central site and branch office is down. If you’re looking for an all in one telephony solution for branch sites, this is the best product. We can provide Voice Mail functionality if we can install the CUE module in the same gateway. Also, we can even support legacy Analog Phone & Fax by installing FXS Modules on this gateway. We can also support service provider and other third-party application if we can install the FXO modules. CME can provide support for Microsoft CRM and Salesforce using Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI). This is the ONE BOX SOLUTION if you're looking for deploying telephony at your remote / branch site offices. - Data and Analytics1B-10B USDManufacturingReview Source

Great communication tool with great support
We've been using it for years,It is helping with overall company communication. If I can still get in contact with you while you're on the phone or if I can call you with a click it really helps make sure that productivity stays up. - Sr. Network Engineer50M-1B USDConsumer GoodsReview Source
Powerful but complex
Cisco Call manager is highly configurable and can be made to do just about anything you can imagine. That comes at the cost of complexity. Even simple task can be several steps. Deployment of a whole system takes a lot of knowlege and experiance. Most companies will either need to retain a specialist to maintain the system or out source support to a 3rd party. Cisco also offers many additonal application servers for call centers, E911 service, and more, but these are licensed seperately. - IT Manager50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Reliable platform with few issues, specs didn't match between the OS and the GUI interface
Prduct has performed relatively well with few hickups. However we encountered a couple of issues: the advertised limits (number of extensions, users, etc) while supported by the underlying OS were not supported by the GUI interface, so the configuration and setup had to be done outside the GUI interface. While the platform is supposed to be able to handle faxing (incoming and outgoing) there is little documentation on it and difficult to get it going. As far as outgoing Cisco only supports their TIF file version which is not recognized industry wide which poses a big issue when trying to implement at the client level. The GUI interface was faulty.
