The strongest feature is the large amount of transformations. I also use Cloudflare Images for another client based solely on their budget, and the feature set of Cloudflare Images doesnt even come close to what Cloudinary can offer. Additionally, the embeddable admin panel allows me to easily integrate it into the client panel which is a unique feature no one else offers.
Reliable image storage, ability to download pictures at different sizes, and the custom image ordering product that was built for us.
Cloudinary is an excellent CDN. It is very simple to setup (it's essentially a file system), very simple to use (in the simplest form, you just copy a URL), and is amazingly reliable in terms of uptime.
My biggest complaint is that the pricing can be opaque at times. Instead of direct costs, they use a credit system and charge you different rates of credits based on transformations versus storage. Id prefer a pay what you use system because I never know what my clients will need and I dont want to subscribe them to a plan that locks them too many credits that they will never use.
Communication assumes a level of technical knowledge that we don't have, making interactions unnecessarily complicated, lack of transparency when issues arise, an overly formal communication style that makes straightforward conversations more long winded than they need to be.
The folder structure can be a bit confusingI don't love the UX for navigating files and folders, and we did have one issue where we exhausted our monthly usage and I don't feel like we were properly warned about current usage trends until it was too late (and we exceeded our monthly usage).
