Control-M Likes & Dislikes
It is fairly simple to use and most users can learn how to configure new setups quickly with little training. The point and click, drag and drop interface is straightforward, but despite the simplicity, the tool is powerful with its ability to integrate multiple systems with automated batch processing. It's easy enough to use and allows us to delegate admin of the tool to power users, freeing up developers for real coding.
The high stability and scalability
The monitoring and alerting capabilities are strong. its provides good visibility into job status, dependencies and failures, which helps our teams to react quickly to issues and reduce downtime.
Many systems are being hosted in the cloud, and while the software supports many protocols, authentication can be messy with cloud services. As easy as it is to use, generative AI could help navigate and create additional pipelines for file/data transfer. The logic rules for some of our processes can be a bit complex and difficult to maintain.
Needs better customization
There is a learning curve. New users may find it complex at first, and some advanced configurations require experienced administrators. Licensing and cost can also be on the higher side.
