Control-M Likes & Dislikes
Strong Control-M has strong and dependable job scheduling and workload automation features. centralized monitoring and control that makes it easy to see all workflows and job statuses automation cuts down on the need for the manual work, which makes operation more efficient and lowers the chances of mistakes. supports end-to-end process orchestration and is easy to integrate with many applications and systems
The high stability and scalability
It is fairly simple to use and most users can learn how to configure new setups quickly with little training. The point and click, drag and drop interface is straightforward, but despite the simplicity, the tool is powerful with its ability to integrate multiple systems with automated batch processing. It's easy enough to use and allows us to delegate admin of the tool to power users, freeing up developers for real coding.
The BMC Control-M user interface can be hard to understand first and it may take some time for new users to get used to it Setting up and configuring for the first time can take a while, especially in complicated situations. You may need additional knowledge or assistance from the vendor to use advanced features and make changes. The cost of licensing can be higher than that of other tool for automating workloads
Needs better customization
Many systems are being hosted in the cloud, and while the software supports many protocols, authentication can be messy with cloud services. As easy as it is to use, generative AI could help navigate and create additional pipelines for file/data transfer. The logic rules for some of our processes can be a bit complex and difficult to maintain.
