The fact that it aggregates pretty much any source of competitive intel (Twitter, YouTube, competitor websites, news mentions, press releases, etc.) without having to manually search for these things is very helpful. I think having that integrated with competitive battlecards is also very helpful for sellers. The option to integrate directly with your CRM is also helpful as it can be a means to quantify the effect of battlecards and other PMM deliverables, which is always good.
Seamless integration with Salesforce and Slack. Good onboarding support. Good solution to surface battlecards directly within Salesforce.
The insights are great for our competitors and the battlecards are easy to set up and integrate with the platforms that our sales team uses (GTM Buddy and Salesforce). We continue to work with them on integrating their new AI tool. Customer service is the best any questions I have they are answered quickly and we are sent a lot of great templates too.
While I love that Crayon serves as an aggregator of information, it does output a lot of junk. For example, if I want to check up on a competitor and they post 50 times per day on Twitter, but only 1 post per day is important, then I am reviewing a ton of junk. I think they can implement more advanced AI capabilities to more effectively rank the priority of each piece of intel so that we can filter out less important pieces of intel. This functionality is built in but not currently very advanced in my opinion. Secondly, I'm not totally sure what the Boards feature is intended for or what the ideal use case is. Never got much value out of Boards.
High maintenance, low adoption, and weak reporting. Lacks the speed and intelligence of newer LLM-based solutions.
Obviously I wish it captured more on pricing but in our wheelhouse that is very hard.
