We liked the customizability to fit our company's comp process, and it was able to handle most of the technicalities that our company required. We also liked that much of the customizability and configuring is able to be learned by our team so that we can change things ourselves. We also appreciated that Decusoft's team was fairly quick at responding to our needs and questions whenever we reached out.
Given enough time, we can build all sorts of customizable fields that store and transform data to compensate individuals as needed. A clean customized user experience that managers can allocate their budgets with widgets updating in real time for employees in their purview. The ability to act on behalf of any user as an admin. The unique outputs we can generate that include comprehensive statements, data, grids, exports to upload.
Imports and setting up cycle security is cumbersome and takes more time than expected.
The biggest thing we disliked was the lack of training resources available to both us and the end user. Decusoft is quite frankly pretty weak at product documentation for Compose. There are some frustrating bugs and technicalities in the software itself that made setting up our instance more difficult than it needed to be. However, on the positive side of this, Decusoft heard our frustration and noted all of them so that their product team could review and we are hoping they will implement some of the changes, but a negative is that they are trying to serve a wide swath of audiences and companies using the product so they're not willing to consider all improvements. Finally, we felt pushed to enter our data prematurely in the implementation process which led us to having data that was not the best starting point in our instance of Compose. We learned the hard way that there is no way for customers to delete a data upload themselves - a support ticket has to be entered and you have to wait for a mass deletion.
The audit log though complete is not easily decipherable some of the functions as you navigate around as an admin are completely illogical and unintuitive. Examples: Filtering, saving changes sometimes require hitting save twice, sometimes hit save once and then hit cancel, sometimes changes are saved automatically all depending on which area you are operating in. It is not very clear which fields in objects are dependent on others or require a refresh to be current Some areas of the system are more fleshed out than others and seem to be an afterthought/disconnected from the rest (ex: budgets) Difficult to clean the system of bad data
