The care given by their customer service and support team is amazing. Fast responses, working with high-level support techs off the bat, proactive tuning suggestions; just a fantastic experience.
This product is extremely versatile and allows you to think outside of the box with how to use it. The custom correlation rules are a huge benefit to targeting specific behaviour of employees. The ability to do deep dive forensic review without having to do an acquisition of data is also a helpful benefit. There is some growth opportunity for Dtex in respect to specific configurations, which may cause conflicts with other security products. There is no perfect product on the market but Dtex will give you the best data to make informed decisions and allow for custom use cases to drill down into relevant data. There is not better tool on the market to support detection of DPRK infiltration. The investment from Google into this product has given Dtex a ton of life to enhance the tool. In just over 2 years of having this tool, the way it fuctions is improved substantially, for example AI prompt metadata has been a key data point that has been added.
The insight / user level metadata the application provides across multiple platforms. We started with Windows only and it expanded to MacOS, Linux as well as legacy platforms (Solaris and AIX)
The toolset is not very customizable, and the learning curve is a bit steep.
There are some issues with device ID replication that makes it difficult to create long term custom groups for testing or monitoring.
Application is dependent on O/S kernel and changes incorporated have the tendency to introduce bugs. On premises deployment requires a good amount of dedication to ensure data collection is delivered real time. On premises deployment on large organization and the use of the User interface can have slow performance. This is potentially due to Elastic backend being addressed in the Cloud with OpenSearch
