We have moved to the Evergreen model so every three years we get all of our controllers upgraded to the latest versions (currently v6). This has the added benefit of increased performance and better de-duplication so a win win.
Best part is that it has reduced dependacies on DBA so we won't have to dedicate a separate DBA team
High performance, reliability and simplicity.
We do need to keep a close eye on the deduplication rates as when the array gets extremely busy the deduplication rates fell quite drastically but I'm assured this is less of an issue with the newer version of Purity O/S.
No dislike is particular but yes the product is expensive, but it is reasonable up to some extent
Overall, there is very little to dislike. If anything, the main drawback is the cost, which can be higher compared to some alternatives, but this is balanced by the product's performance, reliability, and reduced operational overhead.
