Read Full ReviewWe liked that it is highly regarded by the industry and that the SD-WAN/multi-link SLA and failover is highly customizable. Many features are highly customizable, but it can be hard to learn and determine where to go to make edits. It also frequently is updated and changed and varies heavily by model. Overall, it seems better suited to a larger organization that can afford to maintain a more expensive appliance that requires a high level of expertise to implement and customize.

Once it's set up it runs smoothly without constant babysitting and the level of visibility it gives into network traffic is impressive - it feels like having a solid security backbone that you can trust to do its job.

1) La interfaz es usable pero necesita mejorías y aunque cumple con ser funcional e intuitiva se necesita mejorar en la apariencia. 2) A pesar de que es una muy buena herramienta, creo que el costo es algo elevado sin considerar a empresas relativamente pequeñas. 3) No es una plataforma tan difícil de utilizar una vez se capacita a las personas, pero la curva de aprendizaje al inicio es algo grande y hay que familiarizarse con muchas características de la plataforma.
Read Full ReviewThe logs are very vague and don't link to helpful information or related policies and settings within the config. As mentioned in the comments above, we had tons of issues with the sales and post-sales experience for renewals. It also seems like Fortinet forces MFA to only use FortiToken and the hardware only comes with 3-5 FortiTokens. It was also unclear how to enable vendors to connect with this, so we ended up disabling this security measure.
Read Full ReviewWhat I dislike most about FortiGate NGFW is that some of the advanced configurations can be a bit tricky and time consuming, especially if you are not familiar with their cli also, firmware updates sometimes feel a bit clunky and need careful handling to avoid downtime. It's solid but not always plug and play.

It's expensive, not very straightforward to learn, and the knowledgebase is not kept up to date or easy to locate tutorials and guides for common issues. We were also told over 5 years into using that we were sold demo equipment by a Fortinet partner and subsequently told we had to buy new hardware because ours was blacklisted by Fortinet. My experience with FortiGate NGFW has been largely positive. The firewall offers a robust set features in clunding advanced protection, application control, SSL inspection intrusion prevention, and VPN capabilities - all within a single appliance. The user interface is intutive ,especially with the newer FOrtiOS versions , and Fortiview provides excellent real time historical that with netwok monitoring and troubleshooting. Performance has been stable and reliabe, even under high throughput , and the integration with othher Fortigate Security Fabric Products adds signnificant value for organizations with broader Fortigate ecosystems. Support and documentation are genrelly good, though initial setup and policy management can be complex for new users. Licensing is straightforward compared to some competitors, and overall cost effectiveness is high for the level of Securtiy Provided .
