My overall experience has been quite positive. FortiManager is a robust and reliable platform for centralized management, policy control and configuration standardization. It significantly simplifies multi-device management, reduces operational errors and saves time. It notably improves manageability, especially in large and distributed Fortinet infrastructures.

What I like most is the centralized management capability. Being able to manage, deploy and audit policies across multiple FortiGate devices from a single console saves significant time, reduces configuration errors and ensures consistency across the network. The revision history and change control features are also extremely valuable for operational stability and troubleshooting.

Ease of use Simple configuration Centralized control

We were amazed at how easy it is to setup Security Fabric and connect all FortiGate components to our customer's FortiManager.

The main drawback is the complexity of the interface and workflows, especially for new users. Some operations require multiple steps and the learning curve can be steep without prior Fortinet experience. In addition, performance can degrade in large environments during policy installs or database operations, which can impact day-to-day efficiency.

Software stability Application on a pre-configured environment without it

The compatibility matrix for supporting all devices could present some challenges at the beginning. We need to upgrade our devices to the supported FortiOS version and then prepare and connect with FortiManager

Centralized Management Simplifies Fortinet Device Integration With Responsive Performance

Fortimanager is an amazing solution for the Fortinet fabric solutions, in our customer we implemented Fortigate NGFW, FortiAnalyzer, FortiWEB and FortiPAM. Managing all of them individually would require extra effort and resources, however with FortiManager this task is done with few dedicated resources, centralized policies and network objects, monitoring devices in a single webUI. The installation was very easy, just setting the security fabric in all devices did the magic for us. The performance of the webUI is very responsive, no lag, zero delays showing logs or policies.
