Great support from engineering as during implementation we observed that certain features required modification like browser authentication with google and the engineering team quickly delivered that. Multiple security features like CASB, RBI & cloud sandboxing also ensure threat protection from advanced threats. Discovery, visibility and control across applications running on the endpoint and to cloud applications with SDWAN as well with ease of management via a unified console.
FortiSASE capability to act as a spoke provides link redundancy in case of ISP issue hence users will have seamless experience. Lockdown functionality is available in the solution which helps in ensuring that the user is always secured first. Great support not only from the sales team but also from the engineering team in quick resolution of the issue.
Capability to configure the SDWAN appliance as a hub in a FortiSASE configuration so that best link availability can be ensured both for on-network users as well as while accessing applications hosted in DC. POPs availability across the globe, especially where our business users are working. Unified management with ease of administration for both SASE as well as for FortiGate SDWAN appliance for common policies.
Multiple minor bugs observed which got resolved only after engineering team involvement. Reporting functionality still needs improvement and long retention period feature is missing. SSL to IPSec migration for SASE tunnel connectivity has some feature gaps like direct AD integration is not supported.
TAC support sometimes takes more time in providing solutions to technical issues, hence it seems that the solution is new and the support team is not very well trained on it. Implementation partners are also not very well versed with the solution hence a partner eco-system needs to be developed. India Pune POP sometimes creates slowness in the network hence users connecting to that POP face degraded experience.
Engineering team occasionally took longer duration in providing bug resolution. SASE service features are similar to on-premise NGFW appliance but they are using old OS release hence some features are missing like DNS translation which are available in on-premise solution. Agent connectivity issue with a specific POP.
