GEM has some unique features which make it attractive to use, but there are significant compromises versus other endpoint management solutions. I would rate it as good for Android, just okay for iOS, but would look elsewhere for macOS and Windows.

Now I can easily manage the devices directly from the admin console. It has great security which makes me comfortable using it. It works fine across different devices.

If you're a G Suite Enterprise customer, it can be quite nice due to the automatic enrollment during setup of the Gmail app on iOS and Android - users are taken through the setup and the apps won't work until successful enrollment. It's also included in the price, which is nice. The new integrations with Google Context-Aware Access are really a must have as well. The API is good enough, and most data can be extracted over it and individual devices actioned.

The report does not contain much data and feels basic. The troubleshooting process is kind of slow.

There are significant compromises feature wise versus other solutions, and no clear timing on when the features might be delivered in the future. If you're dependent on any of these features, then this is not the right solution currently: - Custom configuration profiles for iOS - Apple Volume Purchasing Program support with automatic installation - AppConfig support on iOS (configuring apps is supported on Android) - Android Security Patch Level/Android Version/iOS version patch enforcement - Applying configuration to groups of devices instead of organizational units of users - Doing any configuration via API instead of clicking around in the GUI to facilitate version control
