Scans environment quickly, provides information on what users are using shadow IT, ability to tag and take notes on specific apps. New CSA function is exciting to look forward to as well.
It's simple to use and it provides us insight into unmanaged accounts we wouldn't otherwise see. It seems to be very niche, but necessary.
It proactively notifies administrators of new services if an employee signs up for any account on any platform, it instantly rotates passwords on SaaS vendors if there is a breach detected, and it automatically disables all known accounts associated with a terminated user.
- can sometimes be slow providing report downloads - can get convoluted with internally named applications (more an issue on our end though) - would like for it to scan globally, but also understand the reason why that cant/hasnt happened yet.
It's still new and there are some (basic to me) functions that would be really helpful for our company that are missing from the tool at this time. I think a lot of this is on the roadmap to release in the future, but they can only work on so much at a time. Unfortunately, we expected to be able to automate a lot more with it than we can at this time. The workflow functionality is there, but to be able to do what we need to do for our organization, some key fields or toggles or labels are missing; basically the customization part of autoamtion. I also think we expected a higher accuracy for the accounts that are detected, but because we only pay for some of the integration and not all integration options, we lose some of that accuracy.
Every company has unique work flows and there is some initial leg work to ensure everything gets tied in. There are a few SaaS vendors that do not function well with GRIP and there is a need to manually rotate passwords on those SaaS vendors. It's hard for organizations to justify the financial spend on another IAM solution that compliments but doesn't fully replace there current enterprise IAM solution.

Tool Identifies Unsanctioned Apps and AI Use, Enables Customization for Teams
Tool helps various teams (i.e finding shadow IT, use of unsanctioned apps, AI use, etc) and Grip team communicates well, is friendly, up to date on product calls, and works with us to customize any part of the tool that we want to edit. - INFOSEC TECHNICAL ANALYST50M-1B USDMiscellaneousReview Source
Product Offers Valuable Insights but still developing workflow functions
Overall I like the company. The product provides good insights for our account management program. It's a "young" product, but they are still working on expanding it and deploying new functionality. Its newness comes with a lack of some functionality that will likely be released in the future. The roadmap is promising and overall the support for the tool is good. - Chief Information Security Officer50M-1B USDBankingReview Source
Essential SaaS solution to manage Shadow IT/AI and fully enhance any IAM solution.
The product is turn key implementation but it comes with an integration SME to walk through exactly how to setup work flows, answer questions and they hold weekly meetings to ensure you are using the product to its full potential to get value out of it. - Vp, Enterprise Infrastructure50M-1B USDFinance (non-banking)Review Source
Grip Solution Offers Unprecedented SaaS Visibility and Access Control
We have been very happy with the Grip solution overall. It has provided visibility and control over the use of hundreds of SaaS applications used within our organization, that we just didn't have before. - Senior Cybersecurity Analyst1B-10B USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source
Browser Extension Provides Enhanced Visibility Into Shadow IT Within Corporate Environment
Grip is a great tool for discovering shadow IT apps in your environment. It is super easy to plug in and see what your users are signing up for or using their corporate email for. The workflows you can develop for offboarding users or approving different applications are very helpful. Some of the newer products are very interesting as well and have a lot of promise when you see where they could end up. The posture management module is great but is limited in the amount it can auto-check itself. There are too many manual checks that need to be performed right now with it. Grip Extend (extension) on the other hand gives great insight and control to your browser extensions in your environment. This one they are also continuing to develop and is very handy for improving your insight into potential shadow IT in your environment.
